Welcome LEAP students, families, and sanctuaries! We are so delighted to be welcoming a whole new group of teenagers to the LEAP program at sanctuaries across the country for the 24-25 year and to be welcoming back our phenomenal LEAP Year 2 students for another impactful year of learning!
Here’s what’s new and what you can expect this fall…
-
- A monthly LEAP Blog and Newsletter – LEAP’s website will feature this new, monthly blog that will also be emailed as a newsletter to students and families once all students are enrolled in October. It will include monthly content created by LEAP staff packed full of things like animal and climate news, plant-based nutrition, recipes, fun facts, community service ideas, and more! Each month will also include a student section where LEAP students will be encouraged to submit contributions in the form of articles, interviews, or videos. Submit your content to leap@leapforanimals.org for a chance to be chosen as a feature by our LEAP staff!
- Plant-based resources for Families – After many requests for more plant-based resources for families, we are partnering with PETA’s TeachKind program to offer free recipes, plant-based protein info, and holiday cooking guides for all LEAP families! These are set to be delivered to all LEAP sanctuaries this October.
- LEAP merch – A new online store featuring the LEAP merch you’ve been asking for is coming to the site this fall! Look for a link in our October blog!
- Social media upgrade – In response to student interest in learning more than we can pack into our LEAP lessons, we’ll be rolling out more education on social media including farmed animal welfare news, wildlife conservation information, climate change articles, plant-based nutrition info, and a spotlight on the various sanctuaries participating in LEAP around the country. Follow along on Instagram @leap4animals with Meatless Monday kicking off today.
It’s going to be a fantastic year, and we are so excited for everything that’s in store!
