Hope Haven Farm Sanctuary

About This Sanctuary

Now Accepting Student Applications for: LEAP Kids Program 25-26 (6th-8th grade)

Hope Haven Farm Sanctuary was founded by Dr. Karen Phillips, a veterinarian who saw firsthand the need for a safe, compassionate refuge for farm animals entering local shelters. What began as a small rescue effort has grown into a vibrant sanctuary in Pittsburgh, now home to over 100 animals from alpacas and goats, to pigs, turkeys, and emus. At Hope Haven, students will have the chance to build meaningful connections with our residents and learn about their intelligence, emotions, and individuality. Through hands-on experiences and compassionate education, we empower the next generation to lead with empathy for animals, people, and the planet.
